A Visit paid by the President of GE Global Spare Parts Sales

On June 17th of 2004, Mr. Sandro Desideri, Regional Manager, Variable Channels Energy Services Sales ¨C Asia Pacific, Kevin Siwik, Director of Global Channels Sales, GE Energy, as well as Scott P. Luetgers, GE¡¯s President of Global Spare Parts Sales, came to Nanguang Power on an inspection tour. They are companied by Yu Haijun and Li Yang, both are account managers of the local area. In the morning, the two parties started a scheduled meeting agenda.

First of all, the GE party made a brief introduction to the visitors and their itinerary for the last few days. While Mr. Chen Shenhong, General Manager of Nanguang Power, made a welcome speech to their visit, and he made an introduction to the meeting participants from the side of Nanguang Power. He expressed his gratitude to GE for her long-term attentions and supports. Then, Mr. Chen Shenghong, with the help of a flow chart, introduced the general situation of Nanguang Power and the different import processes of the GT spare parts. He emphasized that Nanguang Power had played an important role in making import process much easier for the utilities or customers, improving the customers¡¯ work efficiency, and ensuring their normal production with Nanguang Power involving the import process for GE¡¯s gas turbine spare parts. In addition, Nanguang Power has provided customers funds for credit, distributed spare parts among various power plants. Objectively, Nanguang Power has become the largest spare parts distribution center in China. Based on spare parts¡¯ advantages, Nanguang Power has undertaken a large number of domestic projects. Mr. Chen Shenghong briefly introduced Changqing¡¯s (2xPG5301N units) contractual project, the Sichuan¡¯s (3xPG5361 units) GT dismantling, transferring and fuel conversion from oil to gas, as well as Nanshan¡¯s 9E GT repair project. Finally, He showed Nanguang Power¡¯s interests in other GE¡¯s products, and wished to be the general distributor of these products in the Chinese mainland.

After Mr. Chen¡¯introduction, GE leaders expressed her admiration to Nanguang Power for the latter¡¯s continued business development and their appreciation for Nanguang Power¡¯s great efforts in the customer services in the recent years. The GE guests made an exciting statement that Nanguang Power had been awarded top 20 and A-Level for many years in GE¡¯comprehensive evaluation among the global 138 GT spare parts distributors based on a PIMA scoring system. And following that, GE leaders raised a number of issues, including the definition of a duty-exempt company, the number of employees responsible for the sales of spare parts, the annual turnover as well as the GT projects¡¯ proportion in the annual turnover, etc. And Mr. Chen made the patient & detailed reply accordingly.

Mr. K. Siwik firstly introduced the establishment of GE¡¯s global sales channels department and their main businesses. Then secondly, Mr. Sandro Desideri introduced GE¡¯s general situation and business channels. He emphasized the types of GE¡¯s services, which include spare parts supply, GT installation service, performance adjustment service, inspection service, repairs & maintenance, upgrading, power transmission & distribution as well as energy optimization. Also he focused on the latest products which are purchased by GE, e.g. Bently Nevada, Woodward CBAS , Solar products, GT quick installation, power transmission & distribution, etc.£©

After lunch, the meeting restarted at 2 o¡¯clock pm. Both parties made an annual summary and outlook on Nanguang Power¡¯s spare parts sales this year. The GE party made a request to Nanguang Power for the sales goal achievement of 12 million US dollars in 2004. Besides, Nanguang Power reported them the current market competition, and GE paid a very high attention to the report and said that Nanguang Power couldn¡¯t lose Chinese market and they would discuss how to face this competition later. About this topic, Mr. Chen Shenghong raised covering questions, GE leaders answered accordingly. Finally, GE side made a solemn promise that it was impossible for GE to appoint another distributor in China, and hoped that Nanguang Power would continue to cooperate with GE as before with an aim of doing a good job in Chinese spare parts market together. 

Finally in Nanguang Power¡¯s office, all the participants took a memorable photo, and the meeting ended under a friendly atmosphere.
