Reported from the site for the project of LOT2 SUMUT Gas Turbine Power Station (PG6581B) in Indonesia, installation for one PG6581B gas turbine generator unit is under smooth progress, and by now positioning and aligning has been finished, turning to the full stage of installation process.

The unit base embedded board didn¡¯t conform to the manufacturer¡¯s drawing, as found out by our site personnel earlier, so the corresponding problems have to be resolved. In order to finish the project in the due term, our special staff were dispatched to the site for trouble shooting, positioning and aligning the unit. On Oct. 22, our first batch of staff arrived at the site. Through checking site base and measuring position of anchor bolts, they found bigger bias in central-line of load gear box and central-line of gas turbine though within the allowance, and bigger bias in position of generator anchor bolts. By meticulously analyzing and studying, and with approval from the owner, our staff decided to position generator after positioning gear box so as to ensure a reconstruction plan by aligning. Then, our team positioned and balanced the gear box first, trying to process the generator reconstruction as slightly as possible to accomplish the goal of construction schedule. When aligning, positions of gas turbine and gearbox were adjusted. Counting preliminary aligning data, on Nov. 2^nd we finally confirmed the plan for reconstructing the generator base. By adjusting positions of gas turbine and load gear box, base reconstruction could be finished through the least work load so time was saved, and because of that, we received admiration from the owner and the packaged contractor.

Through the endeavors from our staff, on Nov. 05, 2008 we completed unit aligning, starting the welding and coupling hardware assembly. Also on Nov. 5, our second batch of staff arrived at the site, which signals the full start of the unit installation on the date of Nov. 06.
